Charlie Palooza: The annual event features performances by the Charlie Daniels Band, the Marshall Tucker Band, Confederate Railroad, Wiley Fox, Trent Tomlinson, Lee Brice, Jason Young, N-Kahootz and Suite Caroline. The free concert takes place in the back lot of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. A $50 VIP pass includes a meet and greet and food and drinks. The show is Saturday at noon at the casino at 5223 N Orient Road in Tampa. Free.

Damsels and Doggies: A combined doggie and human fashion show will have designs from S&D Vintage, Spinderella's Steals and Adventures in Bradyville. There will also be raffles and auctions, refreshments, chair massages, face painting and a DJ, all to benefit the Florida All Retriever Rescue. Well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Nature of Art Gallery, 1100 Fourth St. N, Suite 101, St. Petersburg. Free.

$5 Day at MOSI: Get a price break Sunday and even a special treat on "The Science of the Circus" from noon to 2 p.m. The museum's InterActors will demonstrate how the circus works, such as how acrobats balance on a high wire. Plus, clowns from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus make a special appearance, so maybe we'll finally find out how they fit 30 clowns in a VW Bug. It's $5 (the special Mindbender Mansion exhibition can be added for $3 per person) at the Museum of Science and Industry, 4801 E Fowler Ave., Tampa.

Holiday Garden Lights: The Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo have been transformed into a glittering holiday wonderland with more than 425,000 twinkling, environmentally friendly lights. See the twinkle for just $2, 11 and younger free, at 12520 Ulmerton Road. It's open daily from 6 to 10 p.m.

National Geographic 'Traveler' Editor: The public is invited to a free talk at 4 p.m. today by Keith Bellows, the editor of National Geographic's Traveler magazine. Bellows will be at the Reeves Theater at the University of Tampa, 401 W Kennedy Blvd., to lecture about his global experience. Under Bellows, Traveler has won more than 50 Lowell Thomas awards for excellence in travel journalism and has twice been nominated for a National Magazine Award. He is the author of The Canuck Book and will soon release 100 Places That Will Change Your Child's Life. Free.
