To do today

Mindless Self Indulgence The kings of warped, industrial rock like to throw theatrics in their show — the more appalling, the better (frontman Jimmy Urine once drank Red Bull out of a prosthetic leg). For twisted humor that's danceable, they play today with the Birthday Massacre and Combichrist at 6:30 p.m. at Jannus Landing, 16 Second St. N, St. Pete. $20. (727) 895-3045.

American Stage in the Park Gilbert and Sullivan's swashbuckling musical Pirates of Penzance has been reworked with a Gulf Coast flavor for this popular outdoor series. It's at 8 tonight through Sunday at Demens Landing, 100 First Ave. SE, St. Petersburg. $11-$26. (727) 823-7529.

Photo masters Black-and-white photographs on display at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 200 N Tampa St., Tampa, were created by a group of bona fide masters of the medium. Images by Berenice Abbott, Diane Arbus, Harry Callahan, Aaron Siskind, Edward Weston, Alfred Eisenstaedt and Harold Edgerton populate the gallery walls through May 31 . Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tues. through Sat. $4 suggested donation. (813) 221-2222 or FMoPA.org

Mike Stanley The Detroit comic is performing through Saturday at 9:30 p.m. at Coconuts Comedy Club Tradewinds Sandpiper Resort, 6000 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach. $15. (727) 360-5653. coconutscomedyclubs.com.

BOWser Abode Tour Rescue Rally Catch the touring display of pimped-out designer doghouses created by local architects, builders, artists and designers. The doggie cribs will be on display at Tyrone Square through June 2, when they move to Seminole Mall. Eventually, the houses will stop touring, the public votes on the favorites will be tallied, and the house will be auctioned off in November. To place a bid, call (727) 710-7387 or see pinellasanimalfoundation.org. — Sharon Kennedy Wynne wynne@tampabay.com
