Seeing (RED)

If the Sex and the City movie has you pining for couture, catch 818(RED), a charity event crafted by the Art Institute of Tampa and Dillard's. There will be a runway show of '09 designs by Ed Hardy, Affliction, Alberto Makali, Love Notes, Perry Ellis, Betsy Johnson and many others during an event that benefits research and treatment for AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. There will also be an exhibit of art and dinner for VIPs Friday at the Art Institute of Tampa, 4401 N Himes Ave., Suite 150, Tampa. Deja vu all over again

As a benefit for WMNF 88.5-FM, the Beach Theater will host screenings of Neil Young's documentary CSNY: Deja Vu. The film chronicles Young's tour with former bandmates David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash in support of his 2006 political album, Living With War, and the diverse reactions from audiences across the country. Better than the Love Guru

Need inner peace? Check out Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, an Indian mystic at the forefront of a movement called "Inner Engineering," which he says can help people unlock the mysteries of success and happiness through meditation and yoga. He also claims to have a memory that goes back 370 years. He'll be in Tampa Sunday to promote his new book, Midnights with the Mystic: A Little Guide to Freedom and Bliss. Dunk 'em, Kaz!

It's fitting that Rays All-Star Scott Kazmir is at the grand opening of a Dunkin Donuts in Brandon this weekend. Thanks to him, the shop will be giving away a lot of free ones as part of the chain's "Rays win, you win" promotion. Kazmir will pose for photos with customers, and there will be a magician and other entertainment at the grand opening Saturday of the Dunkin' Donuts at 2206 E Brandon Blvd. from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Or you could join the Rays for the Rays Summer Block Party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Campbell Park Recreation Center in St. Pete. Festivities begin on Oliver Field with the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church Marching Drum line kicking things off, followed by games, kickball, wiffle ball and music by 95.7 The Beat. There's free food, and an opportunity to meet a Rays players and get autographs. You can also register to vote and teach your kids about it in the KidsVote booth. Monkey see, monkey do

If you thought Lowry Park Zoo was a little too crowded on its recent $5 Zoo Day (another one is coming up Sept. 7), check out the Nite Zoo deal on Friday.
