Tampa Hispanic heritage events

USF Hispanic Heritage Celebration Kick-off: To honor Latino faculty, staff, students and fellowship recipients, the community is invited to a reception at 5 p.m., followed by a presentation and performance at 6 p.m. Thursday in the USF Alumni Center's Traditions Hall at the University of South Florida, 4202 E Fowler Ave. Free. Dia de Asturias: The celebration starts at 10 a.m. Oct. 5 with Mass at OLPH Catholic Church, 1711 E 11th Ave., Ybor City, and continues with lunch, a guest speaker and music at 11 a.m. at Centro Asturiano de Tampa, 1913 N Nebraska Ave. $35 for adults, $15 for children 12 and younger. Feria de la Familia: WRMD Telemundo Tampa's family expo is noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the A La Carte Event Pavilion, 4050 Dana Shores Drive.
