To market, to market
The Harvest Marketplace in Ulmer Park, 301 West Bay Drive, begins its third season Thursday. Fill your wagon with fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. If you'd rather, get a jump on your holiday shopping by checking out offerings by 30 artists and crafters while listening to live music at the gazebo. Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fresh market will be held weekly through April, except for Nov. 27, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. For information, call 587-6740, ext. 5015.
Midway and yard sale
Pony rides, a community yard sale and a midway featuring a Ferris wheel will be part of First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks Jamboree. The midway and carnival will be open from 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 3 p.m. to midnight Friday, 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The yard sale hours are from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Hayrides and carnival
Bring the kids and have some down-home fun. Unbe-LEAF-able, Highland Recreation Center's Fall Festival will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday at 400 Highland Ave. NE. Offerings include hayrides on the Highland trail, marshmallow roasting, caramel apples, carnival rides and arts and crafts. The public is invited. Wristbands for the rides are $7 and can be purchased at any Largo recreation center, as well as at the gate the day of the event. For information, call 518-3016.
Weekend in the park and botanical gardens
Pinellas County Extension had more than 1,200 people walk the grounds during events on Saturday. Included in the festivities were the re-opening of the Pinellas County's Market in the Park, a 4-H Open House and the grand opening of the Children's Trail for the Botanical Gardens. The Market in the Park will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., every Saturday through April 18 in the parking lot of the Pinellas County Extension, 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo.
