Five truckloads of outdoor furniture will help turn St. Petersburg's Straub Park into a South Beach-style outdoor lounge on Saturday night.

Hundreds of daybeds and plush couches will decorate the park for Chillounge Night, a hipster party featuring jazz artist B.K. Jackson, a fashion show, Brazilian samba dancers and a cigar lounge. The $20 admission fee benefits Creative Clay and the Woodson African-American Museum.

The party is the brainstorm of Sarasota gallery owner Rainer Scheer, who staged a similar event last year in his city's upscale Palm Avenue area. It was such a hit, he's taking the show on the road.

"This way, you don't have to spend all your money going to South Beach," he said. "People like to sit on the daybeds and talk and enjoy mojitos and the music. It's a wonderful evening."

Jackson is the headliner, but authentic Brazilian samba dancers and drummers will provide colorful backdrops, parading through the park. Opera and tango performances also will pop up between the Coco Brazil and Maison Rouge fashion shows.

Chillounge Night runs from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Buy tickets at chilloungenight.com.
