More than 2,000 fans of Busch Gardens' Facebook page logged in their vote to name the new baby rhino at the park, and the winning name is Jasiri, which means brave and bold in Swahili.
The female was born Oct. 23 at the 26-acre white rhino habitat on the park's Serengeti Plain, the second calf born to mother Kisiri and the seventh calf born to father Tambo. The new baby weighed about 140 pounds at birth and will grow to 3,500 to 4,000 pounds when grown.
Fewer than 15,000 white rhinos remain in the wild, and about 200 live in zoological facilities across North America.
For its first week, the baby was kept out of guest view in order to have time to bond with its mother, but visitors can now see the playful baby who park officials say is quite curious and likes to chase zebras.
