NEW PORT RICHEY — Chasco Fiesta opens at 5 p.m. today in and around Sims Park and continues through March 28, with a Native American Festival and Pow Wow, carnival midway, specialty food booths, athletic events and live entertainment every day in the amphitheater.
Today's highlights include Native American Night in the Park at 7 p.m., featuring award-winning violinist Arvel Bird and Native American dancers.
Big events include a street parade at 1 p.m. Saturday, a Flea Market and Arts and Crafts Village on Saturday and Sunday, a car show on Sunday, a boat parade at 1 p.m. March 27, and kayak races March 27.
5 to 10 p.m.: Native American Festival and Pow Wow, Chasco Carnival; West Pasco Sertoma Beef Barbecue.
7 p.m.: Native American Night in the Park, featuring violinist Arvel Bird.
Noon to 11 p.m.: West Pasco Sertoma Beef Barbecue.
5 to 10 p.m.: Native American Festival and Pow Wow.
5 to 11 p.m.: Carnival midway.
6 to 11 p.m.: Contemporary Christian Family Night, featuring Jeremy Camp ($15 and $25 in advance, $20 and $30 day of show).
6:30 p.m.: Lighthouse Coronation Ball (Spartan Manor); Bird at Native American Festival.
7 p.m.: Grand Entry of dancers, Native American Festival.
8 p.m.: First round of men's traditional dance competition.
The carnival midway will be open 5 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 5 to 11 p.m. Fridays; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays.
The Native American Festival will be open 5 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
