The University of South Florida has added Chaz Bono, the transgendered son of Cher and Sonny Bono, to the University Lecture Series for a free talk on April 17. Bono's groundbreaking and candid account of a 40-year struggle to match his gender identity with his physical body was featured in an Emmy-nominated special Being Chaz for Oprah Winfrey's OWN channel and in Bono's book Transition. And within the past two years, Bono has entered the public consciousness as the most high-profile transgender person ever as a contestant on ABC's Dancing With the Stars. The talk is at 8 p.m. April 17 at the USF Marshall Student Center, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. Tonight, the Lecture Series hosts cast members of the VH1 bucket-list show The Buried Life. USF students receive priority seating at 7:30 p.m.; doors open to the public at 7:45 in the Marshall Student Center. Free. (813) 974-1001. — Sharon Kennedy Wynne
