Deal days at Florida State Fair save you money

The Florida State Fair kicks off in all its deep-fried glory next Thursday, but a fair visit can add up to an expensive day if you aren't careful.

Here are some the deals to look for before you order a grilled meatloaf sundae:

Opening Day Armband For opening day on Thursday, a ride armband is $20 after 3 p.m. — a $10 savings. This deal can only be purchased on this day at any midway ticket booth. General admission ticket is required; $10 ages 12 and older, $5 ages 6-11.

Corndogs and Country On Feb. 11, your $20 concert ticket includes admission to the fair, and it's also a Pepsi Armband Day. The concert at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre includes Craig Morgan, Joe Nichols, Jake Owen, Sunny Sweeney and Brett Eldredge at 6 p.m. It can be purchased at livenation.com.

Pepsi Armband Days Feb. 11 and 21, bring an empty can of Pepsi to any admissions gate at the Florida State Fair to receive $5 off the purchase of the $30 Pepsi Armband (General admissions ticket required).

Student Days Feb. 11 and 21 it's $6 admission for ages 12 to 12th grade, a $4 savings. This discount can be purchased at any entrance gate only on these two days.

Senior Days Admission is $6 for seniors on Feb. 15, 16 and 17.

Country Gold Tour It's $10 for this Feb. 16 concert featuring Leroy Van Dyke, Jim Ed Brown, Helen Cornelius, Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley and Bobby Bare. A separate gate admission ticket is required for entrance.

Salute To Veterans Free admission for everyone after 4 p.m. on Feb. 17.

4-H and FFA Days Free admission for 4-H or FFA members on Feb. 12 and 19.

• Advanced purchase savings Save up to $4 per adult ticket by buying now through Wednesday at Sweetbay Supermarkets. To save money on food and merchandise vendors, purchase a 2011 Florida State Fair Coupon Book for $5.
