Drag show postponed by RNC security

A lauded band of drag divas have postponed this weekend's political satire musical because of increased security demands for the Republican National Convention. The show, Electile Dysfunction: The Kinsey Sicks for President, had been scheduled to go on at the Tampa Theatre on Friday, two days before the RNC. But a news release Monday said "due to ever-increasing federal security restrictions" the show, which is a fundraiser for the upcoming Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, will be rescheduled for Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. "The issues of limited parking and access next to the RNC event zone have made it too unpredictable for ticket buyers to fully enjoy the event," said Ken Hodges, president of Friends of the Festival. Tickets bought for Friday's performance will still be good for Oct. 25. Refunds are available at the original point of sale up until Sept. 25.
