This weekend is hopping with Easter egg hunts and happenings. Here are six that stand out, with lots more in the accompanying calendar.
1. Easter Bunny Dive at Florida Aquarium
The Easter Bunny will hop right into the water at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. The best part: Save $5 on a child's admission with the purchase of an adult ticket. 2. Underwater Easter Egg Hunt
Trade in those Easter bonnets for swimsuits. Hundreds of prize-filled plastic eggs will be tossed into all areas of the pool and pool deck for children to dive (or grab) for. Bring a basket or a bag. Stick around after the hunt for swimming, music and games (11 a.m.-1 p.m.). 3. Easter Fun for the Dog Too, Tampa
Even the family dog gets into the act at this event with a 1-mile fun run/walk, Easter Egg hunt for prizes and candy and a doggie Easter bonnet competition for prettiest, most handsome and most original dog hats. 4. Huge Easter Egg Hunt, New Port Richey
Wow, could this hunt really include 50,000 eggs? Also, face painting, bounce houses, train rides, laser tag, movie simulator, balloon animals, candy, child safety fingerprinting, live entertainment. Hunt times: 2-3 years (10 a.m.), 4 years (10:30 a.m.), 5 years (11 a.m.), 6 years (11:30 a.m.) 7 years (noon), 8 years (12:30 p.m.), 9-10 years (1 p.m.) and 11-12 years (1:30 p.m.). 5. Coachman Park Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Bunny arrives on The Bunny Express Choo Choo Train. Egg hunt starts at 12:30 p.m. with 20,000 eggs including some "golden eggs" exchangeable for stuffed bunnies. There's also a petting zoo, train rides, face painting, inflatable slide and bounce houses. Presented by Clearwater Community Volunteers (Church of Scientology). 6. Orangutan Egg Hunt
