Entertainment abounds in Pasco

Get her in line: The musical comedy Kiss Me, Kate, based on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, continues through April 13 at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and some Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3 p.m. Sundays (doors open two hours earlier for buffet and cash bar), and at 1:30 p.m. some Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (doors open at 11:30 a.m.). Smooth crooner: Julius LaRosa and singers/comics the Gaylords will perform a benefit concert for the Red Apple School at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge, 11646 Town Center Road, New Port Richey. Yakety yak: The Coasters featuring Carl Gardner (Charlie Brown, Poison Ivy, Along Came Jones) will perform from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Palmwood Pavilion at the Spring Hill Civic Association, Lake House, 1202 Kenlake Ave. (go east on Applegate Drive off U.S. 19 for a mile, then south on Kenlake). Long live the king: Elvis impersonator Dwight Icenhower will perform a "Tribute to Elvis" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pasco-Hernando Performing Arts Center, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. Tickets are $23-$30, reserved seating, with a 10 percent discount for people 55 and older, students, faculty and staff and a 15 percent discount for groups of 20 or more. Shutterbug: Progress Energy Art Gallery continues a black and white photo exhibit by Carol Gula, "The Passion of the Flower," through March 29 at 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. (727) 848-6500.

Save the cottages: "Plein Air Cottage Artists," works by three area artists inspired by the Indian Rocks Beach coastal landscape, is the exhibit at Pasco-Hernando Community College's fine art gallery in the Alric C.T. Pottberg Library on the New Port Richey campus, 10230 Ridge Road. Inquire at the library main desk about viewing hours. Model ships, toys: West Pasco Art Guild continues its exhibit of model ships by the Suncoast Model Society of Spring Hill and hand-crafted wooden toys by members of Toymakers of Pasco County at the guild, 6206 Jefferson St., New Port Richey. The exhibit continues through April 3. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
