The V, formerly the Venue nightclub on Ulmerton Road, will hold its grand opening party May 11, with a sophisticated menu of martinis and tapas that aims for a more grownup clientele.
With new owners, a new name and 75 newly hired people, the facility has revamped restaurant menus, added new themed areas and plans to play off the number 5 or Roman V in special nights and promotions.
The club, at 2675 Ulmerton Road near the Carillon Business Park in St. Petersburg, now has a Main Stage Martini Bar with a stage for live performances, a Speak-easy Sports Lounge, a tropical patio bar and a nightclub called Club Five aimed at a more sophisticated crowd, said Daniel Disbro, managing partner of the V.
"The overall feel for the V will be that of a place to do business and entertain clients throughout the early evening, and the place to enjoy great service and entertainment late into the night."
The menu will include a tapas-style items and sushi.
V will continue the popular Monday night Service Industry Night that made the Venue a stop for servers after work. Renamed SIN Sense, the night "will play off the five senses," said spokeswoman Laurie Stacy Stogniew. The club will have a regular night of electronic dance music on Wednesday nights, she said.
There's no cover Friday and there will be live music inside and outside , she said.
