Holiday offerings abound in New Port Richey

New Port Richey Main Street's "Main Street Holidays" event continues downtown today, Saturday and Sunday, with ongoing entertainment and activities, and a lighted street parade at 7 p.m. Saturday.

In addition, Progress Energy Art Gallery will hold its "Art Stroll" from 4 to 9 p.m. today in conjunction with the Main Street festival. It includes a cookie decorating table for kids, a pencil-portrait artist, an old-time radio play, and art and fine crafts for sale. The gallery is at 6231 Grand Blvd.

Today

4-9 p.m.: Progress Energy Art Gallery's "Art Stroll."

5-11 p.m.: Carnival and midway at Sims Park.

6-8 p.m.: Santa photos at Halina's Interiors, 5346 Main St.

Dusk and 8:30 p.m.: Free holiday movie in Sims Park.

7 p.m.: Old-time radio play by Ralph Annan at Progress Energy Art Gallery.

Saturday

10 a.m.-11 p.m.: Carnival midway.

10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Arts and Crafts Village, river boat tours aboard Miss Daisy (at landing in Sims Park), Makai Kayak and Canoe rentals, pony rides, children's activities, festival food, commercial vendors.

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Live music on stage.

1-2 p.m.: "The True Christmas Story" in music and song.

3 p.m.: "An All-American Holiday Spectacular" by Genesis School.

4-5:30 p.m.: Gypsy Star Band in Sims Park.

4:30-6 p.m.: Photos with Santa at the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce, 5443 Main St.

7 p.m.: Holiday Street Parade.

After parade: Dixie Highway Band featuring John Wayne Wilkinson.

Sunday

9-11 a.m.: Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Sims Park.

10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Arts and Crafts Village, river boat tours on Miss Daisy, Makai Kayak and Canoe rentals, pony rides, children's activities, festival food, commercial vendors.

Noon-9 p.m.: Carnival and midway.

1-5 p.m.: Live musical entertainment on Main Stage.

Tickets: Free, but a donation will be accepted. Food, rides extra.
