Name Lowry Park Zoo's baby hippo

This is not just an excuse to run this cute pic of the baby hippo born at the Lowry Park Zoo last week, but come on, would you blame us? No, the news is the zoo is holding a contest to choose the name for the newborn female pygmy hippo. The zoo has selected three African names starting with the letter Z in honor of mother hippo, Zsa Zsa. The are: Zawadi, which means "gift"; Zola, which means "to love"; and Zuri, which means "beautiful." The name that receives the most votes through Dec. 3 will be declared the winner. And of the entries for the winning name, two voters will be selected at random to win a family four-pack of zoo tickets. Vote online at — Sharon Kennedy Wynne
