Serenade under the stars: The country Americana group the Bayou Boys will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Beach in Tarpon Springs. Hot dogs, popcorn, soda and water will be available for purchase. Take blankets or folding chairs for seating. Free.

Brush up on Shakespeare: The EDPAC Stage Co. presents Shakespeare's The Tempest weekends Aug. 14-23. Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays at the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic School's Eleanor Dempsey Performing Arts Center, 13651 Hays Road, Hudson. Gone With the Wind: As part of the 10-year Decades Series at Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, the Academy Award-winning 1939 movie will be shown at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 23 in the museum auditorium. The museum is at 600 Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs (half a mile west of U.S. 19). Free.

Tryout time: Auditions for the musical Anything Goes will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 28 and 1 p.m. Aug. 29 at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Roles are for eight women and 10 men 20 and older, plus six male and six female dancers. Singers will be asked to sing songs from the show; sheet music will be provided. Director is John Masterson. Dogpatch days: Richey Suncoast Theatre will present the musical L'il Abner Sept. 10 and weekends Sept. 11-27 at the theater, 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey.
