Visitors to the Taste of Pinellas on Friday and Saturday nights will encounter a tall, glowing object — and we're not talking about Huey Lewis' ultra-high forehead (or that other thing you might have heard rumors about). It's a 15-story hot-air balloon being used to promote 55-calorie Bud Select beer. It'll be inflated each night between 6 and 9 at the beer garden, serving as a beacon of low-caloric responsibility amid the fried mac 'n' cheese, chicken wings and barbecue sandwiches (to name a few) of the taste booths. (Eases the guilt, don't you know). Sadly, the public won't be able to ride in it. Still, it'll look pretty cool. Remember, there's an admission charge of $5 those two nights, so if you want to see if up close, you'll have to pay to get in. The taste is free on Sunday, though.
