On Friday's radar: Taste of Pinellas kicks off, Florida Orchestra grows big hair, Rays fans hit the beach

Taste of Pinellas: Country singer Josh Turner and retro rocker Chris Isaak make the ladies swoon on the first day of this food fest starting at 5 p.m. at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg. $15; 12 and younger free. Benefits All Children's Hospital.

Art After Dark: This month the art party takes up the "Art of Cycling" with lunch break on the plaza between the new Dalí Museum and the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg with a free noontime concert featuring the four-piece Jim Morey Band.

Pure Prairie League: Country-rock hitmakers (Amie, Let Me Love You Tonight) and 1970s rock band Firefall play at 7:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater. $45-$59.

Florida Orchestra Pops Totally Awesome '80s: The orchestra jumps into the decade of big hair with hits from Madonna, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Elton John and Peter Gabriel. It's 8 p.m. at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. $20-$67.

Rays Watch Party: The Tradewinds on St. Pete Beach will have the Rays and Marlins on a big screen on the beach and 620-AM WDAE broadcasting a pregame show. Parking is $10 at the Island Grand and at the neighboring Sandpiper Suites, and coupons for $10 (normally $30) for unlimited slide passes will also be distributed. The game is at 7 p.m.
