On Thursday's radar: '90s rock, a little hip-hop and a night with Shakespeare

Our Town Conversation: Like a classic salon at the Dali Museum, host Carol Mickett, a philosopher and artist, leads this monthly talk with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails at Cafe Gala. She'll be talking with Peter Meinke, poet laureate of St. Petersburg, and Jeanne Meinke, celebrated illustrator at 6:30 p.m. Free; reservations required at (727) 823-3767.

Seven Mary Three: Their '90s hits Cumbersome and Water's Edge started it all, and now they rock live shows from NASCAR to tonight's show at 9 at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa. $20.

Hed PE: Playing a fusion of punk rock and hip-hop, with sociopolitical content. Cleveland industrial metal band Mushroomhead opens at 7 p.m. at State Theatre in St. Petersburg. $20.

Judy Tenuta: The campy comic with the quick wit (and an accordion) performs at 8 p.m. at Improv Comedy Theater in Centro Ybor. $18.

Grateful Dead Nite Deluxe: Skipper's kicks its regular Dead tribute night. Uncle John's Band performs faithfully, but tonight the Applebutter Express join at 8 p.m. at 910 Skipper Road, Tampa. $8.

A Midsummer Night's Dream: Shakespeare's beloved comedy is performed in the round in what arts critic John Fleming calls thoroughly enjoyable. It runs tonight through Sunday at 7 p.m. at freeFall Theatre, 6099 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. $32-$47.
