On Tuesday's radar: Lightning watch parties, jazz at NOVA 535, Mark Kurlansky at Inkwood Books

Lightning watch parties: Cheer on the Lightning as they battle the Boston Bruins in the playoffs. The team will show the game outside at the St. Pete Times Forum for free, with giveaways and food and drinks for sale. Or head to the Brick House Tavern & Tap, 1102 N Dale Mabry in Tampa, where they will give out free playoff souvenir cups and other freebies. Game starts at 8 p.m.

Alias Julius Trio: A hint of blues and rock topped with a sprinkle of soul makes up the headliner at 7 p.m. at Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road, Tampa. $5. (813) 977-6474.

Author discussion and signing: Mark Kurlansky, the author of the award-winning bestseller Cod: A Biography of the Fish That Changed the World, offers a new book for kids about what's happening to fish, the oceans and our environment, and what kids can do about it.
