Dog show: About 18,000 dogs will pack Brooksville for the Florida Classic Clusters Dog Show, the largest in the state. It continues today and then Wednesday through Sunday at Florida Classic Park, 5360 Lockhart Road. Free, but parking is $5. floridaclassicpark.com.

Seven Guitars: St. Petersburg's American Stage tackles another of August Wilson's "century cycles" of 10 plays depicting African-American life. Gasparilla Children's Parade: Activities start at 11 a.m. The big bead-filled parade is 3:30 p.m. at Bay to Bay and Bayshore Boulevards. Fireworks will be at 7 p.m. This year the Jose Gasparilla pirate ship will "come to life'' with lights, video and a visit from the feared Jose Gaspar after the parade.
