On your radar: First Friday in St. Pete and an outdoors family flick

Get Downtown First Friday Music Series: The Tempests provide live music this month at the festivities between Second and Third streets on Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg. It starts at 5:30 p.m. Free. (727) 393-3597.

Fashion with a Tryst: Models will show off fashions from Designs to Shine, official designers for Dancing with the Stars, in front of Tryst, and there will be music, an art show, juggling and a fire Hula Hoop act. It's at 8 p.m. at Tryst Gastro Lounge, 240 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg. $20, $35 VIP.

Michael Lynche: The St. Petersburg native and fourth-place American Idol finisher previews his new album, Platinum, at this party at 10 p.m. at NOVA 535 Art Lounge, 535 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N, St. Petersburg. $12–$20. (727) 821-6682.

Outdoor movies: There are lots of places to watch a family flick tonight, including Flicks and Fins and The Smurfs at 7 p.m. at Seminole Recreation Center for $4, $3 child; Flick and Float's showing of Zookeeper, plus movie-themed activities and free hot dogs, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Southwest Recreation Complex and Pool in Largo for $5, $4 resident; at Dive-In Movies you can float in the pool and watch Surf's Up at 8 p.m. at St. Pete Beach Aquatic Center for $4–$5; this week's free movie at Sunset Cinema at Pier 60 is Dolphin Tale, starting around dusk at Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach; and on dry land, Screen on the Green will show Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on a big outdoor screen at 8 p.m. in Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa. Free.
