National Geographic Live: Photographer Annie Griffiths: In "Connect with Anybody Anywhere," follow Griffiths' journey to find common ground in uncommon places. One of the first women photographers to work for National Geographic, she's photographed in more than 100 countries. She speaks at 7 p.m. at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. Steel Pulse and SOJA: Started in 1975 as an adjunct member of Britain's punk scene, Steel Pulse opened for bands like the Clash and the Police before carving out a position on the reggae scene. Capitol Classics Film Series: An American in Paris: The 1951 musical/romance starring Gene Kelly, Leslie Caron and Oscar Levant follows three friends struggling to find work in Paris. It's at 3 and 7 p.m. at Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater. $5. (727) 791-7400.

My Unspeakable Confessions; Gala Dalí Declines to Explain Herself: The play written by Heather L. Jones explores the personality of Dalí's wife Gala at 8 p.m. at the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg. $10, $8 members/students. (727) 623-4730.

Elvis Costello: Pump it up, get happy, strap on those shiny red shoes: After postponing a Sept. 17 date for family reasons, Elvis Costello has rescheduled. If his 2012 shows are anything like his 2011 gigs, he'll dole out a rollicking set list of hits old and new at 8 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. $49–$69. (727) 791-7400.
