On your radar: Retro-pop soul, a food truck fiesta, a diminutive comedian — what more do you need?

Fitz and the Tantrums: The retro-pop soul group (Moneygrabber) performs at 7:30 p.m., State Theatre, 687 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. $20.

Tampa Food Truck Fiesta: This new monthly food truck event in downtown Tampa will be held between Madison Street and Kennedy Boulevard in Gaslight Park. Truck vendors include Taco Bus, Fat Tortillas, Killer Samich Truck, Fire Monkey Food Truck. Arrive early for best selection and be prepared for a wait in line.

Ybor Jazz Festival: Today's prelude concert is at 6 p.m. by La Lucha, featuring John O'Leary on piano, Alejandro Arenas on bass and Mark Feinman on drums. Free light refreshments and beverages will be served. Then at 8 p.m., it's the Infinite Groove Orchestra. Hillsborough Community College Ybor campus Performing Arts Building, 1505 E Palm Ave., Tampa. Daily passes $15; students/seniors $5; free for HCC faculty and students.

Odd Future: This L.A. hip-hop crew, known for its unconventional beats and creepy lyrics, is led by frontman Tyler, the Creator, who's one of the most controversial rap artists since Eminem. 8 p.m., Ritz Ybor, 1503 E Seventh Ave., Tampa. $20.

Date night

Tanyalee Davis: At 3 feet 6 inches tall, the diminutive comedian calls herself the Ferrari of comedy, "low to the ground and kind of racy." 9:30 p.m., Coconuts Comedy Club Tradewinds Sandpiper Resort, 6000 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach. $18. (727) 360-5653.

Modern Family, 9 p.m., ABC: Putting Chazz Palminteri and Jennifer Tilly on this show is one of those strokes of genius that make this an Emmy winner.

Season premiere, Top Chef Texas, 10 p.m., Bravo: We can look forward to Patti LaBelle, Charlize Theron, Pee-wee Herman and Cat Cora this season.
