Super Boat National Championship: Clearwater is the place to be this weekend, with powerboats racing at 200 mph off the coast, a block party in downtown Friday and a concert in Coachman Park on Saturday followed by fireworks at Pier 60 on the beach. Admission to all is free. See for schedule.

USF Lecture Series: This year's first guest is Chicago-born rapper Common at 8 tonight. USF students get priority seating at 7:30 p.m., open to general public at 7:45 p.m., at University of South Florida Marshall Student Center in Tampa. Free. (813) 974-9057.

Enter the Haggis: These road warriors have melded traditional Celtic music with ska, punk, jazz and rock to create an endless St. Patrick's Day parade. Show is 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater. $20–$25. (727) 791-7400.

Comedy: With a name like Them Idiots Whirled Tour, you know exactly what to expect from Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall at 8 p.m. Friday at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. $59.50. Die Fledermaus: This fun, frothy and flirtatious operetta by Johann Strauss II is the St. Petersburg Opera's new production at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg. $21.50–$64.50. (727) 822-3590.

The Lady With All the Answers: The play finds Ann Landers in her Chicago apartment in 1975, struggling with a column about her own heartbreak. It opens at 8 p.m. Friday at American Stage in St. Petersburg. $25. (727) 823-7529.

Cute baby animal alert! Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo will celebrate the arrival of a pair of rare clouded leopard cubs from the Nashville Zoo on Saturday with Radio Disney, games and prizes. Zoo admission: $23.95, $21.95 seniors, $18.95 ages 3–11, 2 and younger free.
