A wealth of local talent is on display at the Progress Energy Art Gallery, which hosts its annual Member's Art Exhibit through July 28 in downtown New Port Richey.
More than 30 local artists from Pasco, Pinellas and Hernando counties are participating in the sixth annual exhibit that features about 70 to 80 pieces in various mediums.
"There's mixed media, photography, oil paintings — everything," said gallery director Nancy Ciesla.
This exhibit is the finale of a successful year featuring a bevy of artisans including abstract painters, holiday craftmakers, photographers, seasoned quilters and high school up-and-comers, Ciesla said.
"This event is special for us," she said. "Any artist can hang here in our monthly themed events. This event is only for our members. It's their show and they get to choose the works that best represent them as an artist."
Those who attend through the end of June are welcome to cast a ballot for the "People's Choice Award." The winner of that award, as well as ribbons for first, second and third place, will be announced at the gallery's First Friday event July 6.
