Parades, land & sea

Temple Terrace Parade

A 2-mile parade through streets of Temple Terrace. Stages at Greco Middle and ends at Temple Terrace Elementary. 10 a.m.-noon Sat. Greco Middle School, 6925 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. Free. (813) 989-7004.

Safety Harbor Parade

A parade featuring children on decorated bikes, trikes, baby buggies and more. Route runs from Second Avenue N to Ninth Avenue S. 10 a.m. Sat. Downtown, Main Street, Safety Harbor. Free. (727) 726-9601.

North Redington Beach Parade

A community-themed parade with sheriff's cars, fire engines, convertibles and floats. Prizes for best decorated entry. Begins at Addie Graham Park and ends at Harold Radcliffe Park. 9 a.m. Sat. Addie Graham Park, on 173rd Avenue. Free. (727) 391-4848.

Madeira Beach 4th of July Constitution Boat Parade

Residents decorate their boats and compete for best decorated in Constitution-related, Freedom and Patriotic themes. Lines up at the bridge at 2 p.m. Moves along the shoreline to John's Pass Boardwalk and ends at Gator's. (Best viewings from shore at 3 p.m.) 2 p.m. Fri. Rock 'n' Wings

Star-Spangled Spectacular

Independence Day Carillon Concert

As part of the national "Let Freedom Ring 2009" festivities, the Singing Tower presents two patriotic carillon concerts and will join bells across America in a simultaneous 13-bell toll at 2 p.m. Free admission for active and retired military and disabled veterans. 1 and 3 p.m. Sat. Fourth of July at MOSI

The Museum of Science and Industry celebrates the Fourth with buy one, get one free admission to the museum.
