Plan your week of things to do in Tampa Bay for April 5-11

Music: The "David Beckham of the violin," David Garrett looks like he could be in an Armani ad, but don't be fooled. The Juilliard-trained violinist who mixes in a bit of rock is the real deal, at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater. $25, $43. (727) 791-7400. Or put on your best specs for American Idol's Danny Gokey about 10 p.m. Friday at the Dallas Bull in Tampa. $9.95-$15. (813) 987-2855.

Stage: Joe Popp shifts Shakespeare to modern U.S.A. in Jobsite Theater's Pericles, Prince of Tires, a rock musical with shows Wednesday through Sunday at the Straz Center in Tampa. $15. (813) 229-7827. Then the tongue-in-cheek Reefer Madness! takes over American Stage in St. Petersburg from Friday through Monday. Pay what you can. (We think there will be munchies!) (727) 823-7529.

Tapas Trail: Hop to more than 12 historic Ybor City area restaurants via shuttle vans to sample tapas and spirits from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Ticket includes map and admission to the Ybor Aficionado Days after-party at the Italian Club. $35. (813) 241-8838.

date night

Tampa Bay Blues Festival: Three days of music under the stars in St. Petersburg's Vinoy Park, Friday through Sunday. It features Bettye Lavette, Jimmie Vaughan, JJ Grey and Mofro and more. $30 per day, $75 for three days, 12 and younger free. (727) 502-5000. After- party each night at NOVA 535 Art Lounge ($20).

Lisa Lampanelli: She's the lovable Queen of Mean, so prepare to laugh even when you know you shouldn't. Show is 8 p.m. Saturday at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. $36.75. (727) 791-7400.

Kids and family

Thomas the Tank Engine: Take your little engineer to a Day Out With Thomas at the Florida Railroad Museum, 12210 83rd St. E, Parrish.
