Trans-Siberian Orchestra Far from a silent night, TSO's blockbuster live show returns to the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Saturday. The band packs arenas with its signature light shows that will carve up the arena walls, pyrotechnics and music that mixes Ole Saint Nick with the legends of arena rock. Pig Jig Saturday's Pig Jig at the Heights features all the usual enticements: barbecue, games, musical entertainment — but it's also for a good cause. Sister Act Disney maestro Alan Menken, best known for his Oscar-winning scores of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Pocahontas, turns the R&B lead of the Whoopi Goldberg movie into a '70s disco diva. Christmas at the zoo The Lowry Park Zoo is going ape for Christmas. On Friday you can see Presents for Primates when primates open specially wrapped presents given to them by zoo staff for enrichment, such as dried cereal, peanuts, hairbrushes and stuffed animals. It's included with zoo admission that day and starts at 11 a.m. Friday. Or you can check out the after-hours Winter Wonderland Friday through Dec. 23. The zoo closes at 5 p.m. and reopens at 6:30 for an evening winter festival with twinkling holiday lights, live reindeer and penguins, visits with Santa, carnival games, inflatables and more. $13, $11 ages 3-11, 2 and younger free. The Color Run The "happiest race on the planet" is making its first local appearance. It's less about speed and more about enjoying a crazy day with friends and family. Come dressed in white and get ready to be blitzed by color bombs as you run along the 5K street course. You can race as an individual or in teams. Or just watch, along the route, since it's sold out.
