Meet the artist: A reception with ceramics artist Peter Hamann will be held from 5 to 7 tonight. He continues his Asian-influenced work through June 7 at the Pasco Arts Council's art center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Free.

Celtic sounds: The singing group Juniper will perform Celtic and alternative folk music at 1 p.m. at the New Port Richey Library, 5939 Main St., New Port Richey. Free.

Special show for hospice: Look to the Rainbow, a benefit show for Hernando-Pasco Hospice, will be presented by dance and voice students of John Leggio's Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School on Hays Road just south of Hudson Avenue. Off with her head: A DVD of Camille Saint-Saens' opera Henry VIII will be shown at 1:30 p.m. at Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art auditorium, 600 Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs. Free.


Season finale: Parsons'

Big Band will conclude its 2007-08 season at 2 p.m. with "More BIG Band Classics" at Richey Suncoast Theatre, 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Tickets are $8. Call (727) 842-6777.

Look ahead

Scandalous opera: Centennial Opera Group will show a video of Richard Strauss' one-act opera Salome at 12:30 p.m. May 16 at Centennial Park Library, 5740 Moog Road, Holiday. After its debut in 1905, the opera's Dance of the Seven Veils and voluptuous scene of Salome kissing the lips of the dead John the Baptist were deemed so scandalous that it was banned from many opera houses for years. Free.
