Scandalous opera: Centennial Opera Group will show a video of Richard Strauss' one-act opera Salome at 12:30 p.m. May 16 at Centennial Park Library, 5740 Moog Road, Holiday. After its debut in 1905, the opera's Dance of the Seven Veils and voluptuous scene of Salome kissing the lips of the dead John the Baptist were deemed so scandalous that it was banned from many opera houses for years.
