Farcical play: Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center will present the 2008 Florida Playwrights Festival New Play, Money, Money ... Big night out: Spring Hill Community Association will present a special indoor edition of Lake House Cabaret Night at 7 tonight at the Lake House, 1202 Kenlake Ave. Performers are Norman Bernard's Southern Exposure with singer Kim Evans and others. Two auditions: Avenue Players Theatre will have an audition for Neil Simon's Plaza Suite (Acts 1 and 3) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, 600 Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs. Roles are for three men and three women ages 20 to 50. Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Performances are Dec. 3-7. There will also be auditions for a reading performance of ZEBRAS: The Jefferson Legacy, by Richard Budin. Roles are for six black and six white men or women. Performance is Feb. 5. Calling all patriots: Auditions for the musical 1776 will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 and 1 p.m. Aug. 30 at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Roles are for 25 men of varying ages and two women in their late 20s or early 30s. Production dates are Nov. 6-23. Call (352) 683-4302.

Thursday Musicale: The 50-woman nonsectarian chorus will hold its first rehearsal at 9:15 a.m. Sept. 2 at Living Word Church, 5151 Rowan Road, New Port Richey. Future mandatory rehearsals are from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays; performances are the first Thursday, October through April (except January). Members must be able to read music and wear pastel gowns for the concerts.
