Teachers can visit any Tijuana Flats location today for a free entree, no purchase required. Called "Teacher Hero Day," menu items include fish tacos, chicken salad, tostados, quesadillas, enchiladas and more. Teachers must present proof of teacher status at the register when placing the order. "The recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School has shaken the country, and myself personally," Tijuana Flats chief executive officer Brian Wheeler said in a statement. "It made me realize that teachers are not always given the appreciation they deserve, and we wanted to start changing that immediately." The Orlando-based, fast-casual franchise will make this an annual event in the month of December, the restaurant announced.
