Art celebration: The Spring Hill Art League hosts a reception for artist Randilyn Cochran from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Art, Craft Bridal & Frame at Town Square Mall, 3021 Commercial Way, Spring Hill. Refreshments will be served. Cochran's works will remain on display through the end of June. Dance recital: The Brooksville Academy of the Arts presents its 11th annual recital, "That's Entertainment," at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Central High School theater, 14075 Ken Austin Parkway, west of Brooksville. Down in Key Largo: Singer-songwriter Bertie Higgins performs at 7:30 p.m. June 23 at the Wellington Clubhouse, 400 Wexford Blvd., Spring Hill. Higgins is best known for hits such as Key Largo and Another Day in Paradise. Tickets are $17 and must be purchased in person at the Wellington by June 20. 'Take it Easy': Live Oak Theatre Company holds auditions for the musical Take It Easy from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and June 15 at Bridge Christian Life Center, 7279 Pinehurst Drive, Spring Hill. There are roles for three females and three males, age 16 to 22, who must be able to sing a solo and dance; one woman, age 40 to 60, who is a soprano soloist; one man, age 40 to 60, who can sing as a soloist and who has an Army officer look, and three females and three males, age 16 to 25, as chorus members who can also dance. Those auditioning must prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo musical theater song, provide sheet music (an accompanist will be provided) or a CD, and be prepared to read from the script and dance.
