Things to do in Tampa Bay for April 15

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy: Fusing jazz, swing, Dixieland and big band to create its own dance tunes. Catch this hepcat band at 8 p.m. at Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater. $39 and $49. (727) 791-7400.

Brian Posehn: This alternative comic is the hero of geeky, heavy metal, comic book fan boys. An actor (Sarah Silverman Program, Just Shoot Me) as well as a writer and comic, he brings his act to an Ybor bar instead of a comedy club. Also performing are Jeremy Essig and Robby Slowik at 9 p.m. at Crowbar, 1812 N 17th St., Tampa. $16. (813) 241-8600.

Rickey Smiley and Friends: The clean comedian, television host and radio personality brings his show of Southern humor to the Mahaffey Theater, 400 First St. S, St. Petersburg, at 8 p.m. $37-$47. (727) 892-5798.

Alice in Wonderland Jr.: The Patel Conservatory Youth Theater's fast-paced stage adaptation of Disney's classic cartoon takes audiences on Alice's wild journey through Wonderland at 7 p.m. at Patel Conservatory, 1010 N MacInnes Place, Tampa. $12. (813) 222-1002.

SERIES PREMIERE, Killer Outbreaks, 9 p.m., Animal Planet: A new show about how doctors fight possible epidemics brought on by dirty vermin. If only the Mongols had this show to warn them before they brought the black death across Asia to Europe.

SEASON FINALE, The Ricky Gervais Show, 9 p.m., HBO: Ricky asks Karl if he'd be willing to live a Matrix-style virtual life. Only if a chubby British guy would quit asking him dumb questions in that virtual life, he answers.

SERIES PREMIERE, American Restoration, 10 p.m., History: Rick Dale from Pawn Stars gets his own spinoff. That's a heck of a way to advertise his new family business. He's a marketing genius!

SEASON PREMIERE, Sanctuary, 10 p.m., Syfy: Magnus and friends get into Praxis, but aren't welcomed with open arms. Well, that's why they call it Hollow Earth.
