Things to do in Tampa Bay for Aug. 1

Beauty and the Beast: The vivid characters and songs of Disney's Oscar-winning animated tale are brought to life on stage with lavish sets, costumes and big production numbers. It's opening night at 7:30 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. $50-$70. (727) 791-7400.

Bucs Training Camp 2012: Watch the football team practice for free, plus there's autograph sessions, a merchandise tent, discounted concessions and appearances by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleaders and Captain Fear. It starts at 8:45 a.m. at One Buccaneer Place in Tampa. (813) 870-2700.

Future Tense: This new drama by Gianfranco Settecasi (Dirty Girl, Giggy) follows four college students who went to high school together and reunite during a tumultuous storm. See it at 8 p.m. at Silver Meteor Gallery, 2213 E Sixth Ave., Ybor City. $12, $8 students. (813) 300-3585 .

Summer Olympics, 8 p.m., NBC More swimming and diving, plus the men's all-around gymnastics final and women's beach volleyball, which we'll all watch because it's the U.S. vs Austria.

SEASON FINALE Diamond Divers, 10 p.m., Spike The American crew take out a new boat after a storm destroyed their old one. That would have been a pretty good sign to give up for a while.

Restaurant: Impossible, 10 p.m., Food Why is it these restaurant owners never want to follow the host's advice on shows like this? Don't they ever watch old episodes before the crew shows up?

Final Witness, 10 p.m., ABC A mother investigates gang rivalries and contract killings to find out why her son was killed. Those questions may have just been answered.
