Things to do in Tampa Bay for Dec. 19

Holiday Lights in the Garden: Stroll through a garden of tropical plants glowing with more than 500,000 twinkling lights, and make sure to check out this year's new laser light show and an expansion of lights into the vinery garden. St. Petersburg Opera: Seasonal Sparkle: The St. Petersburg Opera chorus and orchestra join with soloists for a holiday concert that includes a portion of Bach's Christmas Oratorio, excerpts from The Nutcracker ballet and favorite carols and songs. It starts at 7:30 p.m. at Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg. $21.50-$64.50. (727) 822-3590.

A Christmas Carol: This long-running production of the Dickens classic tells the story of the ghosts of Christmases past, present and future. See it at 7 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 N McMullen-Booth Road, Clearwater. $25-$50. (727) 791-7400.

Wild Wonderland: Lowry Park Zoo closes at 5 p.m. and reopens at 6:30 for the annual evening winter festival with twinkling holiday lights, live reindeer and penguins, visits with Santa, the Arctic Freeze Ice Slide and more. It's at 1101 W Sligh Ave. in Tampa. $13, $11 ages 3-11, 2 and younger free. (813) 935-8552.
