Things to do in Tampa Bay for Dec. 25

The Pier: Since this is the last Christmas before the Pier is torn down for a new Lens design in downtown St. Petersburg, it's a good time to say goodbye. Bring quarters for the telescopes and dollar bills to buy fish to feed the pelicans. Allon Sams performs jazz and R&B tunes from 2-5 p.m. The Pier is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at 800 Second Ave. NE.

Tampa's Downtown on Ice: Once the presents are open and you've had your fill of fruitcake, work off those holiday calories at the outdoor ice rink at Curtis Hixon Park. It's open 4-10 p.m. Each session includes skate rental for $10 at 600 N Ashley Drive.

New Granada Christmas Night Extravaganza: Seek refuge from the in-laws with indie bands Alexander and the Grapes, King of Spain and Alaskus at 8 p.m. at New World Brewery, 1313 E Eighth Ave., Ybor City. $8.
