Wild Wonderland: The zoo closes at 5 p.m. and reopens at 6:30 for the annual evening winter festival with twinkling holiday lights, live reindeer and penguins, games and more. It's at Lowry Park Zoo, 1101 W Sligh Ave., Tampa. $13, $11 ages 3-11, 2 and younger free. (813) 935-8552.

Holiday FantaSea: Even after Christmas, Florida Aquarium still brings the winter season to its waters. Besides extended hours, the aquarium offers a snow play area, holiday model train, light show and more. Opens at 9:30 a.m. at 701 Channelside Drive in Tampa. The 35th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, 9 p.m., CBS Musician Buddy Guy, actor Dustin Hoffman, comic David Letterman, ballerina Natalia Makarova and rock band Led Zeppelin all get awards, plus a seat next to President Obama.
