Things to do in Tampa Bay for Dec. 8

Jingle All the Way with Psy: The Korean pop star behind Gangnam Style had to pull out of Sunday's Jingle Ball, but he'll be at this radio-sponsored event, performing around 4:30 p.m. 93.3-FLZ will be on site all day, giving away Jingle Ball tickets every 15 minutes. It starts at 10 a.m. at University Mall, 2200 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. Free. (813) 971-3465.

Holiday Hoopla: Gulfport's holiday event features arts and crafts, roaming characters, food, live music, caroling and lights. New this year is a craft area where visitors can make their own gifts and take them home. It starts at 10 a.m. along Beach Boulevard in Gulfport. Free. (727) 322-5217.

St. Pete Illuminated Boat Parade and Festival: The festival with children's activities, food and drink vendors and live music leads into the boat parade. If you just want to see the parade, there are plenty of places to watch for free, like along the Vinoy Basin sea wall, at Demens Landing and on the Pier approach. Festival is at 3 p.m.; parade starts around 6 at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg. $5, 12 and younger free. (727) 822-3277.

Tampa River Lights Festival: Nearly 10,000 illuminated river lights will be released into the Hillsborough River, where they'll travel to their collection point at MacDill Park, 100 N Ashley Dr., Tampa. There, guests can enjoy food, music and family activities. It starts at 6 p.m. just north of Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa. Free.

Catch Me If You Can: The musical comedy based on the 2002 film follows teen scam artist Frank W. Abagnale Jr. See it at 2 and 8 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. $50-$70. (727) 791-7400.

to watch

American Giving Awards, 8 p.m., NBC Joel McHale, of all people, hosts a special about celebrities giving $2 million to charity groups. Cleaning out their couch cushions can be such a chore!

Saturday Night Live, 11:30 p.m., NBC Jamie Foxx hosts and Ne-Yo performs, with a near-guarantee there will be a shot at Quentin Tarantino. We suggest Jamie in a skit about Reservoir Dogs, complaining about what his name is.

correction

The Chabad Jewish Center of Greater St. Petersburg's Hanukkah Extravaganza is Sunday in Straub Park. Thursday's Weekend section listed an incorrect day.
