Things to do in Tampa Bay for June 6

Things to do today

Two Door Cinema Club The Irish pop-rockers opened for Tokyo Police Club at Crowbar last year, but this is their first headlining show in the area. They're joined by openers Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at 8 p.m. at Ritz Ybor, 1503 E Seventh Ave., Tampa. $21.50. (813) 247-2555.

Mayor's Food Truck Fiesta Monthly smorgasbord of food on wheels in downtown Tampa, courtesy of gourmet food trucks. It's at 11 a.m. at Lykes Gaslight Square Park, 410 Franklin St., Tampa. Free admission. tastingtampa.com.

Coffee with a Curator: With Dirk Armstrong "Preserving History: Painting Conservation at the Dali Museum" is this month's talk, presented by a member of the museum's education team. Complimentary coffee and refreshments served at 10:15 a.m., presentation begins at 10:30 at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. Free. (727) 823-3767.

Amazing Spider-Man "Secrets Unmasked" Truck Tour Sure, the truck rolling into Walmarts this week is just a flashy way of promoting The Amazing Spider-Man movie coming July 3, but we love free stuff. The tour turns the parking lot into a playground for four hours, with interactive features including a PlayStation3 gaming center, giveaways and, in some locations, a climbing wall. Today, it stops at 11 a.m. at the Walmart at 7011 W Waters Ave. in Tampa; and at 4 p.m. at the Walmart at 2701 E Fletcher Ave. in Tampa. It's all free. (954) 200-8012.

Coming up

Bon Iver You'd never know by looks that this unassuming folk band — essentially singer-songwriter Justin Vernon — is supercool. This year's Grammy win for Best New Artist was a stunner, and this weekend they will be one of the hottest acts at Bonnaroo. See them Thursday at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. Limited tickets available at press time. $39.50. (813) 229-7827.

John Waite The British singer-songwriter is still probably best known for his megahit Missing You in the '80s. His show is Friday at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater. $35-$49. (727) 791-7400.

Tarpon Springs Wine Walk Stroll the shops along the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks on Dodecanese Boulevard in this inaugural event with wine and hors d' oeuvres Saturday. Tickets available atspongedocks.net. $20 advance, $35 day of event. (727) 942-9463.

World Oceans Day Celebration We're surrounded by water, so learn about underwater life using special activities, presentations and crafts Friday through Sunday throughout the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Included in admission: $21.95, $18.95 seniors, $16.95 children. (813) 273-4000.
