to watch

A Charlie Brown Christmas, 8 p.m., ABC Everyone's favorite loser learns that those around him will actively seek to gloat in his failure until a thumb-sucking 8-year-old reminds him that Christmas is about togetherness, not consumerist obsession. Hey, did you see these new Peanuts toys you can buy?

Christmas in Rockefeller Center, 8 p.m., NBC It's the big 8-0 for this annual ceremony hosted by Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker. Ann Curry would be there, but Matt Lauer had only coal for her this year.

SERIES PREMIERE Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings, 10:30 p.m., E! In case you thought the foul-mouthed comedian with a sitcom had any more jokes, here's a weekly talk show in which she talks about the same things, just without the benefit of a laugh track.
