Florida Orchestra: Brahms' Double Concerto: Violinist Karen Gomyo and cellist Christian Poltera perform Brahms' dramatic Concerto for Violin and Cello on this program with Brahms' Academic Festival Overture and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5. Tampa's Tree Lighting Ceremony : Mayor Bob Buckhorn lights the tree, followed by a performance from American Idol contestant Michael Lynche and the Gibbs High School Choir, plus a screening of 2001's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It's at 6 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa. Free.
