Things to do in Tampa Bay for the week of Dec. 3

Published Dec. 3, 2012

Lighted boat parades: A whole string of them starts Friday in Madeira Beach, St. Pete Beach and Tarpon Springs and continues Saturday in St. Petersburg, Gulfport, Treasure Island, Clearwater and Weeki Wachee. All free.

Jingle All the Way with Psy: The Korean pop star is doing Gangnam Style with the president at the White House instead of the Jingle Ball in Tampa, but don't worry, he's going to make it up to us by performing at a radio event at University Mall in Tampa on Saturday instead. For free.

Jingle Ball with Justin Bieber: The newly single singer headlines the 93.3 FLZ event with Ke$ha, Sean Kingston, Ed Sheeran and OneRepublic on Sunday at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa. $29-$159. (813) 301-2500.

Gregorian Concert X: Let all that holiday stress melt away with the 10th annual Advent concert of Gregorian chant Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa. $10. floridapromusica.com

Tampa Bay International Auto Show: Geek out over hundreds of high-end cars and trucks and alt-fuel vehicles Friday through Sunday at the Tampa Convention Center. $9, $5 seniors/military/ages 7-12, 6 and younger free. (323) 216-7557.

Date night

Eddie Vedder: Expect the former Pearl Jam frontman — with his ukulele, of course — to do songs from the Into the Wild soundtrack, Ukulele Songs and Pearl Jam gems tonight and Tuesday at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. The shows are sold out, but call the box office in case more tickets are released. $81. (727) 791-7400.

Dixie's Tupperware Party: Could be the raunchiest party ever for plastic kitchen goods, courtesy of Dixie Longate (cross-dressing alter ego Kris Andersson). Yes, Tupperware is for sale. Party starts Tuesday at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Tampa. $36, $43. (813) 229-7827.

Kids and family

Snow days: Snow is the hot trend at Christmas events, including Miracle on Cleveland Street on Friday in Clearwater (free); Snow Place Like Tarpon, with "snow falling on Tarpon Avenue" Friday for this party with real reindeer (free); and Snow Fest, with a snow ramp and other games in Safety Harbor City Park on Saturday ($2 entry or $7 wristband).

Jingle Bell Run: How fast can you run wrapped in blinky lights while singing holiday tunes? Find out Friday at the 30th annual evening 5K jaunt along St. Petersburg's waterfront. $20, $15 ages 12 and younger. (727) 821-4819.
