Things to do in Tampa Bay for the week of Dec. 6

Lighted boat parades: The Florida tradition hits critical mass this week with at least eight: On Wednesday, Tierra Verde (6 p.m.); and on Saturday St. Petersburg (6:30 p.m. at the Pier); Clearwater (6:30 p.m. at Coachman Park); Hillsborough River (6 p.m. at Lowry Park); Gulfport (6 p.m.); Hernando Beach Yacht Club (6 p.m.); Treasure Island (6:20 p.m.); and Tarpon Springs (6:30 p.m.).

Jingle Bell Run: Put on your Santa hat and bells and sing all the way along St. Petersburg's waterfront for the 3-mile and 1-mile run/walks to benefit the Boley Centers. It's 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pier. $18, $20 race night; $13 kids, $15 race night. boleycenters.org.

Scientology play: St. Petersburg's American Stage does the irreverent A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant, in which six children tell the story of L. Kids & Family

Florida Orchestra holiday pops: On the podium is the jolly Richard Kaufman, who brings in the The Love Boat's Gavin MacLeod to narrate The Night Before Christmas. Plus, the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, a sing-along and the Twelve Days of Christmas.
