Things to do in Tampa Bay for the week of June 4

The Marriage of Figaro: Tuesday is the St. Petersburg Opera's last performance of Mozart's popular comic opera at the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg. $21.50-$64.50. (727) 822-3590. For a review, go to tampabay.com/things-to-do.

Classic movies: Go retro with The African Queen (1951) starring Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn on Thursday at Clearwater's Capitol Theatre ($5). On Friday, see a free screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) outdoors at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa (food trucks, too). And on Sunday, it's the 1946 mystery/romance Gilda starring Rita Hayworth, Glenn Ford and George Macready at the Tampa Theatre. $9, $7 members.

TampaWorks: An evening of original short plays by local playwrights about places you probably visit every day — such as a Village Inn Pancake House, Pinellas Memorial Pet Cemetery and Bayshore Boulevard. Shows are Friday and Saturday at Stageworks Theatre, 1120 E Kennedy Blvd., Tampa. $15.

Date night

Bon Iver: You'd never know by looks that this unassuming folk band — essentially singer-songwriter Justin Vernon — is supercool. This year's Grammy win for Best New Artist was a stunner, and this weekend they will be one of the hottest acts at Bonnaroo. See them Thursday at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. Limited tickets available at press time. $39.50. (813) 229-7827.

John Waite: The British singer-songwriter is still probably best known for his megahit Missing You in the '80s. His show is Friday at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater. $35-$49. (727) 791-7400.

Tarpon Springs Wine Walk: Stroll the shops along the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks on Dodecanese Boulevard in this inaugural event with wine and hors d' oeuvres Saturday. Tickets available at www.spongedocks.net. $20 advance, $35 day of event. (727) 942-9463.

Kids and family

Target Tuesday: For the last few times, this monthly event has been free, so note that it's back to $2 admission for everybody from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Glazer Children's Museum in Tampa. (813) 443-3861.

World Oceans Day Celebration: We're surrounded by water, so learn about underwater life using special activities, presentations and crafts Friday through Sunday throughout the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Included in admission: $21.95, $18.95 seniors, $16.95 children. (813) 273-4000.
