Ribfest: Tuck in a bib for ribs, music and kids activities starting at 11 a.m. Friday through Sunday in St. Petersburg's Vinoy Park. Date Night

Ice Palace: If you need a little Christmas, see Tampa's International Plaza light up the Ice Palace and snow globes to welcome Santa at the mall's Grand Court at 7 p.m. Friday. Free light wands for kids while they last.

Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller: And if you need a little more Christmas, this concert of new age interpretations of yuletide faves is 8 p.m. Saturday at Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. $35-$95. (727) 892-5798.

Dogtoberfest: Gussy up your pooch in her best dress and help break the Guinness record for the most dogs in costume. There's also a yodeling contest for dogs and humans; pup art; crowning of King and Queen of Dogtoberfest with Court; and the Running of the Wieners. Sponsored by the Suncoast Animal League.
