Things to do in Tampa Bay on March 24

Illuminated night parade: Kicking off Grand Prix race weekend, this parade lights up downtown St. Petersburg, followed by a party in the park with fireworks. Racing legends Al Unser Jr. and Johnny Rutherford and several other drivers, bands and the Budweiser Clydesdales will be there. The parade begins at 7 p.m. at Central Avenue and Fifth Street and ends at Beach Drive and Fifth Avenue N. Free.

Gasparilla International Film Festival Opening Night: The festival kicks off with a reception at Tampa Theatre at 6 p.m. and the film The Music Never Stopped at 7:30 p.m. followed by an awards presentation, 711 Franklin St., Tampa. $55 VIP, includes reception. There's no cover for the after party at nearby Fly Bar, 1202 N Franklin St. for schedules and tickets.

Sick of Sarah: The all-girl five-piece sounds like the Breeders meets Tegan & Sara with a splash of punk. 7 p.m., the Orpheum in Ybor City $12.50;

Chasco Fiesta: The annual 11-day American Indian festival kicks off today with a carnival and music every day. It starts at 5 p.m. at Sims Park, 6341 Bank St., New Port Richey. Free, fee for food, rides;


SEASON PREMIERE, Jersey Shore, 10 p.m., MTV: We already know they're headed to Italy next season, so we can't even muster a smart-aleck comment about this one.

SEASON FINALE, Fairly Legal, 10 p.m., USA: Kate has to mediate a legal dispute between two siblings, stop an international incident at the Croatian Embassy and almost gets thrown in jail.
