Things to do in Tampa Bay on Oct. 2

Black Star: Mos Def and Talib Kweli join forces and will perform their 1998 album Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star in its entirety, as well as hits from each of their solo catalogs, all of which contain cerebral rhymes and jazz-influenced grooves. Super Boat National Championship and Festival: After all the weekend festivities, it's race day. It's free to watch the powerboat racing, with boats reaching speeds of 200 mph, starting at noon off Clearwater Beach. For a complete schedule, visit

Grey Gardens: It's the last of the run of this original musical based on the haunting story of the aunt and first cousin to Jackie Kennedy who ended up living in squalor in their neglected East Hampton mansion. Folkfest St. Pete: The annual contemporary folk art and music street festival held in downtown St. Petersburg will have an array of food vendors, a beer garden, children's activities and music by Lee Boys, Catie Curtis and A Fragile Tomorrow. Doors open at noon. Final concert starts at 5:30 p.m. at Creative Clay, 1124 Central Ave. Free.
