Steely Dan Usually found on radio stations with "lite" in their logos, the jazz-rockers have been reelin' in the years with an eclectic list of hits and a spot in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, Walter Becker and Donald Fagen have set off on their solo courses, from Fagan's Nightfly Trilogy, released in 2007, to Becker's just-released solo album, the reggae-infused Circus Money. Mook Gallery Its new show, "Paintings — an Exploration of Color," runs through June 30 and features artist Harvey Berman. The gallery is at Center Place, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon. Exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment.

Arthur's World Great Explorations: The Children's Museum is hosting the national touring exhibition based on the Emmy Award-winning PBS children's television series and popular books by Marc Brown. It runs through Sept. 2 and museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4:30 p.m. Sundays. Nutrition workshop Check out a free workshop for parents and children taught by an exercise instructor and a nutritionist starting Wednesday and running through July 30. It includes lessons on weight management, how to grocery shop and hands-on cooking lessons for ages 8 and older. Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Enoch Davis Center, 1111 18th Ave. S in St. Petersburg.

Plies The Florida rapper (Shawty) plays host and will sing a couple songs Tuesday night at the release party for his new album Definition of Real. It's at 9 at Club 360, 1609 E Seventh Ave., Tampa. $40. (813) 850-7847.
